Trumpet Practice - Ascending Long Tones Playalong Trumpet Cornet
Ascending Long Tones.There is a count down sound fx so you shouldn't need to count your bars rest.
Only play as long as you can comfortably with a beautiful sound. Once you have run out of air rest until the next exercise. Do not go higher if you are straining.

Great exercises. I wish some didn't have the reading challenge. Thak you.
Loving the exercises, Ashley. You might just have the best collection on the web. One small challenge is the way in which the music in some of the exercises jumps all over the screen. It makes following a bit of an ordeal. Arban No. 21 Semi-quavers Chop-buster is one such example. I don't know if it is fixable or just a quirk in the software, or a fiendishly manipulative way to get old geezers (60 years old and returning to the instrument after a 35 year hiatus) like me to concentrate. Thanks for the fantastic exercise! I'm only about six months nto playing the trumpet and just starting to do long tones. I find that my tongue starts creeping up behind my bottom lip for support when it gets tired. Is that bad?
If you are tired. Rest. Do you have a regular teacher? It would be easier for them to check what is happening

Well done for all your hard work and organisation, I thought both concerts were a great success. The camera work (i.e. zooming in and panning) and sound quality on the second night was much improved, which really enhanced the viewing experience.

I just felt like: Lets do some long tones, gonna be good for you. And then I thougt: maybe search for it on YT. Nice, fitted perfectly and the backing track is keeping it more interesting. Althogh these seven bars rest got me nearly every time. Always like: Oh my gosh, those bubbles. Hurry up, get ready :-D You now officialy have a subscriber from germany :-)

For those asking about the high pitched note. Just wondering....are you using headphones? If playing on speakers, if you are in tune the note will disappear when you play the note. Try bending down and then back up to pitch. It was designed for myself to use.

It is a great exercises, but the high notes in the track are so loud and heavy that I cannot stand longer than 8 minutes...Maybe it is a good idea to get rid of them, then the track is very useful!
The idea of the notes is for you to play with. If you use speakers and play along you will notice that the tone disappears as your sound covers it over.
What are the very high frequency pitches every 2 bars? Is this related to training hearing overtones?
This is the trumpet part played by a synth. The idea is to help people know where they are. If you play along with speakers, you will notice that the synth disappears when you play in tune. Hope it helps
Am I the only one who's bothered by the hight pitched sine waves?
If you are playing along they should disappear.
@@AshleyBuxton I had it on my phone and I could still hear it very clearly. I guess it's ok for older people but for young men like me it's uncomfortable. All I could hear was this very loud and high-pitched sound, and I could barely hear the accompaniment even though I set the phone on the max volume.
Bruno Neureiter it isn’t really designed for listening on a phone. It isn’t to do with age. A phone won’t have a full spectrum colour. The higher frequencies will be more prevalent. Try with one headphone in.
These are great! Well done. Personally I like a little more rest between each set, but it’s no problem to hit pause.

that high pitched drone is awful! I have a good ear so I can hear them all. please pitch it down so you can hear it too. It gives me a headache
it's true, I really like this exercise but the very high tones there hurt my ears a little after 30 minutes

@@trumpetom1359 I guessed so. Hearing high pitched sounds abilities degrade with the years. I'm 19 and I can't stand two seconds of it.
